Britney Spears is putting up the cash for her own B in the Mix: The Remixes release party, which is being hosted by her fan site World Of Britney. “I just wanted to say that I love the idea of all my fans getting together to celebrate the release of my new album,” Spears wrote in a statement to the site. “I was happy to help! I hope you have a great night out at the club and dance all night long!” The party — which is being held at an unspecified club in Los Angeles on November 22, the night of the album’s release — is open to those who sign up through WOB or her official fan club, and will be limited to 500 fans. BRITNEY SPEARS has rubbished reports the birth of her first baby SEAN PRESTON FEDERLINE left her depressed and needing a tummy tuck.

The TOXIC hitmaker, who gave birth on 14 September (05), has been plagued by claims she regained her pop star figure through cosmetic surgery – but she insists the rumours are false.

Spears’ representative LESLIE SLOANE says, “She is not depressed, nor has she had a tummy tuck.

"Sometimes" Lawsuit Dismissed

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

A songwriter’s claim he wrote Britney Spears’ hit record Sometimes has been dismissed by a judge in Indianapolis.

Steve Wallace said he wrote Sometimes in 1990 but did not formally copyright the song until 2003 – four years after Spears copyrighted her track.

His action was dismissed by US district judge John D Tinder on 31 October.

“I cannot emphasise enough this was not a settlement but a dismissal,” said the singer’s attorney, David R Baum, adding that no money would change hands.

Mr Wallace claimed that a few weeks after writing the track in 1990, he executed what is known as a “poor man’s” copyright – sealing his work in an envelope and obtaining a postmark.

The track was offered around to music publishers in 1994. Spears obtained a US copyright for Sometimes in January 1999.

The lyrics of Sometimes were almost identical to those written by Mr Wallace, according to a side-by-side comparison submitted as evidence.

Sometimes appeared on Spears’ 1999 debut album, Baby One More Time, and on 2004’s Greatest Hits: My Prerogative.

Wallace’s attorney, John D Ritchison, said he had no comment to make on the verdict.
