More Info On Britney's Driving Charges

Written by admin. Posted in Legal Matters

Britney Spears’s bad month just got worse: She has been charged with hit-and-run causing property damage and driving without a valid license, the Los Angeles City Attorney said Friday.

If convicted on both misdemanor charges, she faces up to a year in jail, City Attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan tells PEOPLE.

The charges stem from a fender-bender in a store parking lot on Aug. 6. Spears, 25, made a wide, right turn into a parking space and scraped another car’s bumper. (The incident was captured on video by celeb photo agency X17.)

“According to the DMV, Ms. Spears was never issued a California license – ever,” Mateljan says.

The other car’s owner filed a police report at a North Hollywood station.

Her arraignment is set for Oct. 10 in a Van Nuys, Calif., court.

Pasadena attorney Richard Hutton, best known for representing Paris Hilton in her probation-violation case earlier this year, says California residents must get a California driver’s license within their first 10 days as a resident.

Spears has been pulled over several times in recent years with being cited for the license violation. Hutton (who is not involved in the Spears case) says it’s possible officers were persuaded she maintains a residence in Louisiana and legitimately considers herself more a Louisiana resident than a California resident.

Overall, Hutton says, the charges are “minor stuff” and Spears could escape with a fine and probation.

The charges are just the latest headache for Spears, who earlier this week was ordered by a judge to undergo random drug tests. The judge in her custody fight with Kevin Federline found that she is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of alcohol and controlled substances, and now must submit to random twice-weekly testing.

Britney Charged With Two Driving Offences

Written by admin. Posted in Legal Matters

Britney Spears has been charged with one count of hit and run causing property damage and one count of driving without a valid California license. Both charges are misdemeanors, each carrying a maximum of 6 months in jail.

The charges stem from an August 6 incident in L.A. where Spears was in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles City Attorney filed charges this afternoon.

Spears’ arraignment is set for October 10.

The City Attorney sent Spears a letter notifying her of the charges. That letter was mailed today.

Britney & Sean Preston Go Shopping

Written by admin. Posted in Sean Preston

britneyseanp.jpgIn a bewildering move, mama Britney spent custody time with son Sean Preston yesterday … in shopping and paparazzi mecca Robertson Blvd.

While it’s lovely to see her with one of her kids, bringing him to one of the most photographed places in L.A. probably wasn’t the best idea. She might as well take him to Winston’s!

Sean hid his face as Britney tried to shush the paparazzi swarm outside the AG store. Sorry, sonny, mama’s gotta shop! Once inside, Spears changed clothes and was spotted sucking on her son’s pacifier.

I know Britney went to a paparazzi hotspot, but what happened there really was disgusting.  They wouldn’t even move to let her get her baby out of the car!

If you want to see how agressive and uncoperative the photographers are, you can watch a video of yesterday’s events here.

First Review Of Album Track "State Of Grace"

Written by admin. Posted in Blackout, Comeback

Ignore all those terrible Britney Spears songs wafting around the internet because the new Britney album is going to be pretty good.

We know this because we’ve heard an actual song from the album, and we don’t mean ‘Gimme More’.

Here is all we have to you about it.

» It is called ‘State Of Grace’ which, as much as we love her, is not something we would ever credit Britney with knowing very much about. But not to worry.

» We would describe the track as ‘understated’ which, again, is something we would not usually credit Britney with ever being. But by understated we do not mean ‘half-arsed’. We mean ‘subtle and amazing’.

» There is a bit of an Eastern influence on the track, although less so than Hilary Duff’s ‘Stranger’, which is as good a reference point for songs that have an Indian influence as we could hope to offer.

» With a bit of rejigging it might have sounded a bit like ‘With Every Heartbeat’. As it stands, it doesn’t sound much like ‘With Every Heartbeat’ at all, but it’s not a million miles away.

» The main hook is simply “love is a state of grace between you and I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I”. Contrary to what you might have just read it doesn’t sound much like ‘Old MacDonald Had A Farm’.

» It is not quite a ballad but is quite floaty and very nice indeed.

» It sounds a lot like a Britney song despite sounding like no other Britney song ever recorded.

So there you go – a solid seven facts about a new Britney song.

For the record, “State Of Grace” is the first song we heard Britney playing in her car back in January. If you still haven’t heardthe clip, you can listen to it by clicking the read more link. This is my favourite track so far, I have been hoping since January that it would make the album and it looks like it has!

Britney Hits The Clubs… After Being Told Not To Drink Alcohol

Written by admin. Posted in Custody Battle

Just hours after a judge ordered random drug tests for Britney Spears, the singer hit the Los Angeles nightclub scene overnight Tuesday with Avril Lavigne.

Followed by a pack of paparazzi, Spears first was seen at Winston’s in West Hollywood with Lavigne and Spears’s friend Alli Sims.

The women left around 1 a.m., and Spears was later spotted at Hyde Lounge in West Hollywood until the club closed.

“They kept bringing (Spears) shots and so they were drinking,” says a Hyde observer. “She was dancing on the tables trying to be really sexy, even putting a black sock over her head as a hat, and putting on a show for everyone.”

Another observer saw what appeared to be alcohol in front of Spears but didn’t see her drink it.

At one point in the evening, Spears drove to the Beverly Hills Police Department and complained that photographers were following her, but no action was taken.

Spears’s partying came after the judge in her custody fight with Kevin Federline found that she is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of alcohol and controlled substances, and now must submit to random twice-weekly testing.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon also ruled that both Spears and Federline may not consume alcohol or non-prescription controlled substances at least 12 hours prior to being with their children.
