Larry Rudolph Thinks Britney Can Still Bounce Back

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Although Britney Spears is laid up in the “5150” ward at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, at least one person believes the former pop diva can still make a comeback.

Former Spears manager Larry Rudolph, in an interview promoting his E! reality show “Sunset Tan,” told FOX News that the pop diva he helped discover will once again be on top of the music scene.

“She’s probably the most dynamic and exciting performer that’s hit the music scene since Madonna in the mid-’80s, Rudolph said.

Like Madonna, Spears has had her share of controversy, especially in 2007 when she shaved her head, became part of the so-called “bimbo summit” including herself, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and lost primary custody of her children, at least temporarily, to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Thursday night, she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai for what one source close to Spears is calling a “complete psychotic meltdown.”

Rudolph most recently worked with Spears last summer on her latest CD, “Blackout,” which kicked off to an inauspicious start with Spears’ wobbly performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, but then quickly rose to the top of the Billboard charts, surprising industry insiders.

“I was working with her when she was recording and eager to hear rest of it and was really happy it’s doing well,” he said.

“The reality is she’s here for a long time,” says Rudolph, who also worked with Spears’ one-time boyfriend Justin Timberlake. “Right now you’re seeing what you’re seeing, but I know this girl has an enormous talent and she’s smart and she’ll get it right and get right back on track and she’ll do amazingly well,” he said.

Right now it’s hard to see the forest through the trees, however.

Spears faces up to a year of probation if convicted in a misdemeanor case of driving without a valid license, has been ordered by the court to have her children’s visits supervised and has to adhere to court-appointed drug testing.

But Rudolph thinks all of this will pass.

“I think that Britney Spears is going to be a force to be reckoned with again and she’s going to be out there in a big, big way, playing arenas and stadiums in the near future.”

America does love a good comeback, and although 2008 has started on a down note for Spears, here’s hoping Rudolph is right, not only for her career, but also for her children.

Insider Says Nobody Wanted To Monitor Britney Last Night

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

An insider at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center tells Usmagazine.com that nobody wanted to be Britney Spears’ monitor last night.

Spears was rushed to the hospital around 11 p.m. and was designated a “special needs” patient, meaning “they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide,” the source says.
With “special needs” patients, the hospital source said, “we watch them so they don’t hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don’t pass anything to them.

“So we got a call to go have someone sit with her,” the source added. “None of us wanted to go sit with her.”

Why?!  How unprofessional!  Surely they’ve seen patients much worse than her before…

Britney's Family "Terrified" Over Her Hospitalization

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Britney Spears’s family is “terrified” following the news of her hospitalization, a source close to the family says.

“Everyone has been worried for some time,” says the source. “Her world has been crumbling around her and this is another call for help. Her parents are just devastated. Nobody knows if they can take much more, but they’re trying to be as strong as they can.”

Spears’s father Jamie was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Thursday night, and her older brother Bryan was expected to show up Friday, according to a source.

Spears’s mom Lynne, who’s been in constant contact with Britney, and 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn have been in seclusion following the December bombshell that Jamie Lynn is pregnant. The two are now en route to their hometown, Kentwood, La., from an undisclosed location, a source says.

Another family friend, Spears’s former dance teacher Renee Donewar, tells PEOPLE, “I don’t even know where Britney’s head is. I thought she had already hit rock bottom. I can’t imagine what’s next.”

Donewar says she believes Britney will (and should) lose custody of her kids.

“She keeps digging herself deeper and deeper,” says Donewar. “How can anybody say, ‘She’s been through a rough time and she should have her children.’ She is not in a state of mind to have her children. She’s confirming everything bad that people think. It is really a shame.”

She added: “[Britney] was such a level-headed kid, she knew what she wanted, and she was determined to get it and to make it. Now she has it, and what is she doing with it?”

Added another family friend: “I just hope she’ll pull out of this and get on the right road to recovery. A good rest here in Kentwood might do her some good.”

Britney To Spend A Minimum Of 72 Hours Under Supervision

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

hospital2.jpgBritney Spears was placed on lock down for a mental evaluation Friday after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her L.A. home and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A source tells PEOPLE the pop star’s court-appointed child monitor called police. “She had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden,” says the source. “The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney.”

Spears, who according to police appeared to be “under the influence of an unknown substance,” was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where the source says she will be on a minimum of a 72-hour lock down for mental evaluation.

Spears, who has visitation rights with her two sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, was scheduled to give the boys over to Federline at 7 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, officers responded around 8 p.m. to a call “about a custodial dispute regarding Britney Spears’s children,” says Los Angeles police Officer Jason Lee.

Nearly three hours later, police determined that a court order stated that the singer’s children, who were with Spears at the time, were supposed to be with Federline, and a transfer was arranged, according to Lee.

“While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms. Spears under the influence of an unknown substance,” Lee added.

LAPD called the incident an “ongoing investigation” and says, “for her own welfare, [Spears] was taken to the local hospital for treatment.”

Preston was taken to the hospital by Federline’s assistant, and Jayden was in the ambulance with the monitor, a source says, adding that the boys “won’t be back with [Spears] for a long time.” Federline took his sons home early Friday morning. Spears’s father Jamie remains at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is due in court at 8:30 a.m. to attempt to strip Spears of her visitation rights. Attorney Tara Scott from the law firm of Trope and Trope will represent Spears even though the firm has asked to withdraw as counsel.

No Alcohol Or Drugs Found In Britney's System

Life & Style can exclusively report that Britney Spears blood tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center came back negative, despite earlier reports from police that she appeared to be under the influence of a substance when she was taken from her home after a custody dispute last night.

“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source close to the Spears family tells Life & Style.

This indicates that her odd behavior was not the result of substance abuse, as early reports suggested.

Britney appeared to be laughing when she was taken from her home into an ambulance.

But an LAPD spokesperson was unable to confirm or deny to Life & Style on Friday morning that earlier reports indicated that cops believed Britney appeared to be under the influence of a substance when they arrived on the scene.

Britney Went "Completely Psycho" On Her Way To Hospital

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

britneyamb.jpgBritney Spears went “completely psycho” as she was rushed to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Thursday, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

“They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics,” the source adds, calling it “a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy.”

Another Spears pal tells Us: “I guess she has good days and bad days – it’s mental instability. All she has is to think of something sad and she goes crazy.”

After she defied court-mandated visitation hours Thursday night by refusing to turn over her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline, police were called to her home and later a reportedly intoxicated Spears was rushed via ambulance to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A hospital source tells Usmagazine.com that Spears has been designated a “special needs” patient, meaning “they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide. So we go stay with these patients and monitor them constantly. We watch them so they don’t hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don’t pass anything to them.”

Kevin's Lawyer On His Way To Court To Revoke Britney's Visitation Rights

Written by admin. Posted in Custody Battle

TMZ has learned K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will scurry to court this morning at 8:30 AM and ask the Commissioner to strip Brit of her visitation rights, at least for now. We’re told there may not be much of an argument and it’s almost certain the Commish will see Kaplan’s point. Attorney Tara Scott from the law firm of Trope and Trope will represent Brit — awkward since the firm has asked to withdraw as counsel.

As we reported, Britney is at Cedars-Sinai on a “5150 hold,” meaning there’s evidence she’s a danger to herself or others — others as in her kids.

Here’s what’s interesting. We’ve been reporting for several months now that Britney doesn’t have a drug or alcohol problem — that her instability is mental, not chemical. Well- placed sources tell us what happened last night is not rooted in drugs, and that her mental state has deteriorated of late to the point that what happened at her home was not unexpected.
